What is 4Crowd?
4Crowd is an online political debate platform transforming how voters interact with politicians.
-
Voters Ask The Questions — Anyone can ask the candidates a question. If there is a particular issue or policy that matters to you, ask the candidates about it!
-
The Candidates Debate — Once a question is asked, its the candidates turn. The candidates can respond and debate back and forth. This is not a free-for-all for anyone with political opinions, rather, it is a place to learn what the candidates have to say.
-
Undecided Voters Decide — Undecided voters are able to get their questions answered. They are able to see in one place online what position each candidate takes. And they are able to decide who to vote for!
Ongoing Debates
Unlike traditional debates, 4Crowd debates are ongoing over time right up to election day.
-
No Time Slot — Unlike traditional debates that occur within a specific time slot, 4Crowd online debates happen from launch right up until election day. Just like with other social media, you don't schedule a time when all your friends will go on Facebook. Rather, you use it periodically throughout the day and week. These debates work much the same way. You can ask questions at any time, and candidates can answer them at any time!
-
Never Miss New Or Hot Topics — Because the debate is ongoing, the newest issue or topic can always be discussed and debated. Televised time-slot debates can easily miss the lastest developments in the race. But the 4Crowd debates capture it all!
Moderators
Each debate has moderators to approve questions.
-
New Questions Are Approved — A moderator approves each question to ensure that the questions are appropriate and worthwhile for the candidates to answer.
-
Inappropriate Questions — Inappropriate or offensive questions are removed according to the discretion of the moderator.
-
Duplicate Questions — If someone has already asked a similar question, that question may be removed so that the candidates can focus on answering new questions.
Why do Voters use it?
4Crowd gives voters a unique opportunity to get their questions for the politicians answered.
-
Ask Your Own Questions — Have you ever watched a debate and wished you could ask a question to the candidates yourself? Now you can! If there is a particular issue that is important to you, ask it!
-
See Answers From All Candidates — During a campaign, debates are a rare opportunity to hear how all candidates answer the same questions. With 4Crowd, you can cleanly and easily see how each candidate answers.
-
See How The Candidates Challenge One Another — Perhaps the most valuable decision maker for voters is seeing how candidates challenge one another, and how they respond to those challenges. It puts the candidates to the test and forces the truth to come out.
Why do Political Candidates use it?
4Crowd gives political candidates a way to easily answer questions and reach undecided voters online.
-
Answer Voters' Questions — Candidates can easily answer voters questions on 4Crowd. Since the answers are visible to all, by answering one question, the candidates are able to reach the hundreds and thousands of voters who have the same question.
-
Challenge Their Opponents — 4Crowd gives the candidates an opportunity to challenge and poke holes in their opponent's plans and policies. They are able to make their case to voters.
-
Reach Undecided Voters — Most existing social media outlets were not made to help politicians reach undecided voters. On Facebook, only people who "like" their fan page can post a question on their wall. On both Facebook and Twitter, the updates from their accounts go to their friends and followers. Undecided voters aren't going to "like" a candidate just to ask questions. 4Crowd is an ideal way to reach the undecided voters out there.
-
Reach A Large Audience — Because 4Crowd partners with local media outlets, such as local news TV networks, lots of people know about the debates. When a candidate posts on Facebook or Twitter, on average they may only reach a couple thousand friends and followers (mainly those that are already in their camp), but by posting an answer on 4Crowd, their answers are visible to tens and hundreds of thousands of viewers, both online, and through TV broadcasts as the news networks discuss the latest happening of the online debate.
Media Network Partnerships
4Crowd partners with media outlets around the country to make these debates worthwhile for all.
-
Reach More People — By partnering with media outlets in each state, 4Crowd is able to reach the local voters for each race so they can participate and have the opportunity to get their questions answered by the candidates.
-
Makes It Worthwhile for the Candidates — Since our partnerships make lots of people aware of the online debates, it makes it worthwhile for the candidates to participate because they can reach a huge audience by participating.
-
Benefits the Media Networks — By partnering with 4Crowd, media networks are able to give their viewers an online political debate branded after themselves with no technological investment. They are able to set themselves apart from their competing networks by offering a unique and interactive online political experience. In addition, it gives them exclusive political news material, and they can regularly report on the answers politicians are giving, along with how they are challenging each other's positions.
